Boogie By The Bay Review
Unlike some of the other events that have declined a little over the last few years, this event is consistently good-first rate. The hospitality is warm and I always feel welcome. The Saturday night dinner was improved from last year as chicken was added to the menu. The competitions were awesome and the classes were taught by the best instructors in the country. Sunday's juniors competition was absolutely delightful. There's a lot of excellent young talent out there and Southern California was well represented. If you went to this event to just social dance, there was plenty of time for that. If there is one area that needs improvement, I would have to say it is accommodations at the Hyatt. They never seem to have enough people on staff for the usual issues that come up during the weekend. The lines for getting coffee were long, the waiters were slow and the front desk took a long time to answer their phones. Gee, you'd think after having this event at the Hyatt for the last few years, they would consider adding to staff for this weekend. (Disclaimer-This is the view of one person and should not be used as your sole consideration as to attending this event in the future). Michele Geerhart
