A Note from Jumpin'
Jack
Hi Everyone,
I just want to wish everyone a Happy New
Year and may all of your dreams become a reality this year. The last 4 months
have been a whirlwind with the new club. It seems that every waking moment is
doing something to make the club better or promoting for its success. I don't
think it could be going any better. When I started the club I wasn't sure how it
would all come together but it has and each week it gets better. I want to thank
some people who have been instrumental in the club's success. First, I want to
thank John Tripp for taking care of the newsletter. He works very hard to get it
out as soon as possible after the contests. We are working every month to
improve it to include more information about the West Coast Swing Dance
Community. Next, I want to thank Jackie Ford. She has been the backbone of our
competitions and without her it would be unbelievably difficult to get the
contest to run smoothly. Barbara Dumler, thank you for the pictures. Hopefully I
will get them up on the website soon. Danielle Bird, thank you for your pictures
and the photo collage that you made for the club, it's wonderful. I want to
thank all of the judges that have been at each of the contests. Without them the
contests would not get very far. Giovanna Dottore, thanks for MC'ing the finals
of our Progressive Jack and Jill and I hope that you will be back often to MC
our future contests. Julie Mattox, thanks for allowing me to use "The
Clubhouse". It is the best facility for dancing and I can't imagine holding our
dance anywhere else. I also want to thank Julie Ringquist. She has helped me
behind the scenes with every aspect of the new club and I can't thank her enough
for her patience with me when I was stressed about not having everything ready
and going crazy trying to get everything done. And finally I want to thank YOU,
each and every one of you who has made this club, your club. You make the club
what it is and without you it would be nothing more than a empty
building.
A few things for the New Year, we are planning
some outings for the club. First, we want to try to get a group, as large as
possible, to attend the play "Swing". I don't have all of the information yet but
it is going to be here in February or March. We want to hold other outings and
will bring them to you when as we start the planning. I was thinking of a beach
party in the summer, maybe a Disneyland trip during the summer to have fun and
then dance at the Carnation Plaza. If this is something you would like to be a
part of let me know. If you have any ideas of things to do, please let me know.
We are also going to sponsor some club nights out where we go as a club to other
venues on other nights to dance. A lot of you already attend the other dances
that I DJ and I truly appreciate that. So for now I just want to again thank
each and every one of you for your support and I will continue to work to make
the Orange County West Coast Swing Dance Club the best club on earth, with your
help we can do just that.
See you on the dance floor!
