We have two Strictly Swing contests in April; both start at 8:00 pm and neither requires OCWCSDC membership to enter. The $5 per person entry fee for each contest will be matched by Jack Smith and all monies will be awarded as prizes when the winners are announced. Check our club web site for the rules:

1) On Sunday, April 4th we have a "Mixed level Strictly Swing Contest": Advanced & above must dance with Intermediate or Novice; Intermediate can dance up or down. Novice can dance with Intermediate or above. You pick your own partner, but no partnership can be at the same level and no teacher/student, past or present can partner.
2) On Sunday, April 18th we have a "Mixed Age Strictly Swing Contest": You pick your own partner, but there must be at least a 20 year difference between your ages and no teacher/student, past or present can partner.
The California Swing Dance Hall of Fame is having a fund raiser Laughlin bus trip April 26-28. $48 double occupancy/$68 single includes bus, room, two meals and WCS dancing. Buses will be coming from L/A/Orange County, San Diego and Palm Springs. Contact Mary Collins (714)374-1166.
On Saturday, 3/15 Skippy Blair's 80th birthday was celebrated at her studio in Downey. More than 250 of her personal and dancing friends joined her children & grand children to celebrate her life. Her son provided valet service parking, and enough potluck food was served to feed twice that many. It was a wonderful event and several speeches were delivered that kept Skippy in tears of joy. We love you Skipper.
